Red Sails Festival 2024 Volunteer's Meeting

Can you spare a few hours of your time to volunteer during this year's Red Sails Festival (21st-27th July)?

The festival is entirely volunteer run, therefore we need your help!

If you would like to help, call down to our volunteer evening on Wednesday 19th June at 7.00pm in Agherton Parish Hall

Red Sails Festival 2024 Launch!

The Red Sails Festival Committee, part of Portstewart Community Association launched this year’s festival on Thursday night in Bob and Bert’s cafe on the Promenade. The week long event begins on Sunday 21 July, opens with an inter-denominational service of the Blessing of the Boats, followed by a number of local acts.

Chair Sheila Jackson is delighted that Portrush Musical Society will stage a ‘Songs for John’, as a tribute to the late John McDowell, a long standing trustee of both the Music Society and the Community Association. ‘We think it is a very fitting tribute to John who through his work, his music and wide ranging interests was the very soul of the communit...

Certificate of Appreciation Award for PCA

Portstewart Community Association's work during the pandemic has been recognised by causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council by the award of a Certificate of Appreciation.

During the pandemic, members of the Association:

  • Made and distributed scrubs to NHS workers and others
  • Delivered medicines for Bradley's Chemists
  • Hosted two drive in showings of the The Star for local families at Christmas
  • Distributed Tesco vouchers and vouchers for healthy, affordable meals from Warke's Deli to those in need,
  • Bought six laptops for Dominican College students.
  • We are very proud of the Award!
